Shepherd’s Hut Specialists

At IB Shepherd’s Huts we work with our customers from the very start of their shepherd’s hut dream. All elements of your hut will be constructed in our workshop using premium materials. During the planning stages, we like to sit with our customers to allow you to explain exactly what you want to get out of your hut and how you envisage it looking. Once we know what you want, we will draw up some plans for you to approve. Once the finishing touches have been finalised, we will get to work!

Highly Skilled Craftsmen

The skills and experience between our workmen enable us to build huts that are built not only for luxury but for stability ensuring not only the best quality but the correct measurements and specification to your needs. With some companies, parts of the hut can be built offsite which inevitably increases the likelihood of problems down the line. At IB Shepherd Huts all parts of the hut are built onsite ensuring a smooth build from start to finish.

Premium Materials

Your shepherd’s hut will be constructed using premium materials that are not only durable but will ensure that your hut is aesthetically pleasing inside and out.

Things to Consider When Planning for a Shepherd’s Hut

When planning your dream shepherd’s hut, you may want to consider the following:

  • Interior – What your shepherd’s hut looks like inside will widely depend on how you wish to use the space. If you are planning on making it into accommodation then it will need to be fitted with a bedroom, a shower unit and a kitchen whereas if this is just a space for your children to play, you may just want to add some storage for toys and video games consoles. If you are planning on using your shepherd hut as a catering facility then you will need specialist equipment which may mean that a tailor-made option might be best for you. Whatever the reason, interiors are designed and planned to your specification from flooring to fittings!
  • Chassis – The chassis that your shepherd’s hut is built on is an important factor when considering your purchase and should be looked into thoroughly. The chassis is what supports the hut itself and makes it much easier to transport (if you are planning on moving your hut around). With this in mind, it is highly recommended that you opt for a steel chassis as opposed to a wooden one. A wooden chassis is much more likely to twist and swell causing instability to the hut. A steel chassis is a lot more studier and will increase the lifetime of your shepherd’s hut a lot more.
  • Planning Permission – Depending on what you intend to use your shepherd’s hut for, you may require planning permission. When considering your purchase, it is recommended that you call your local authority to check whether planning permission is necessary. It is only usually required when you plan on renting the space out as accommodation. If the space is going to be in your garden for private use, there shouldn’t be any need for it but it is always best to check for peace of mind.

At LB Shepherd’s Huts we know that these elements will be important to you and will be discussed during the planning stages of your hut. To contact LB Shepherd’s huts for a no obligation consultation, please contact us today.
